Sukhoi Holding Company delivered the first batch of Su-34 bombers to Russian Ministry of Defense in the network of State Defense Order for 2014, the company’s press-service reports.
The jets performed ferry flight from the airfield of Novosibirsk Aviation Plant to their home base. The bombers were delivered to the customer under a contract for delivery of a large batch of Su-34s signed in 2012. A five-year contract signed in 2008 was implemented in December 2013.
The contracts for delivery of large batches of Su-34 bombers to Russian Ministry of Defense were signed in 2008 and 2012. These are the largest contracts for deliveries of combat aircraft included in the State Arms Program for the period from 2011 to 2020. Implementation of these agreements provides a high workload for Sukhoi Holding Company and its suppliers for years to come. Today Su-34 jets are successfully operated by the air forces and these vehicles demonstrate great operating performance.
The jet’s range is 4000 km; maximum speed – 1900 km/h; payload – up to 8 tons. Su-34 is fitted with the latest weapons and aerial refueling system.
