In late April Su-27 fighter of the Russian air forces maneuvered aggressively close to the US Boeing RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft in international airspace over the Sea of Okhotsk, Interfax reports with reference to Associated Press.
According to a representative of Pentagon, Colonel Steve Warren, Su-27 crossed the nose of the US aircraft within 30 meters. At that Boeing RC-135 did not performed any evasive maneuvers.
According to Warren, the US Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Martin Dempsey, have discussed the incident with the Russian party.
Representative of US Department of Defense added that he did not know why the Pentagon did not make the incident public earlier.
