The Federal Security Service (FSS) held a tender for delivery of three An-148- 100ЕА aircraft, RIA Voronezh reports.
The Federal State Public Institution “Military unit 55056” acted as the official customer in the network of this tender (this organization takes part in all the contracts for deliveries of vehicles and equipment to the Federal Security Service). United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) won the tender (it was the only company to take part in the tender).
Possibly, the liners will be assembled by Voronezh Aircraft Production Association (VASO). The enterprise is a part of UAC and production of An-148 jets is one of its core projects.
In accordance with the tender documentation, two out of three An-148s will feature a two-class cabin layout seating 49 passengers. The first airliner will be delivered to the customer prior to December 20th 2014 and the second one – prior to April 1st 2015. The third aircraft will feature a three-class cabin layout seating 35 passengers. The FSS plans to take delivery of the third jet prior to December 20th 2015.
The initial value of the contract is 4,359 billion rubles and it has not been changed in the course of the tender.
In 2014 VASO will also manufacture four An-148s to be delivered to Russian Ministry of Defense.
