Progress M-22M was sunk in the Pacific Ocean

On April 18th 2014 at 19:46 (Moscow time) the fragments of Progress M-22M cargo spacecraft were sunk in the intended area of the Pacific Ocean, press-service of the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) reports.

«In accordance with the program developed by specialists of Mission Control Center of TsNIIMASH and executed by the spacecraft’s on-board computer, the spacecraft’s thrusters were ignited for controlled deorbiting», - the press-service noted.

Soyuz-U launch vehicle with Progress M-22M spacecraft was launched from Baikonur cosmodrome on February 5th 2014. The cargo spacecraft delivered over 2,5 tons of cargo to the ISS (fuel, food, parcels for the astronauts, photo and video equipment, water and other consumables necessary for operation of the station).
