The flight testing of PD-14 engine intended for advanced Russian passenger aircraft MS-21 will be started next year. It was stated by Managing Director – General Designer of Aviadvigatel, Alexander Inozemtsev, at the International Forum of Engine Building 2014 (MFD-2014), Voenno-promishlenniy Courier reports.
According to him, the certification schedule has been signed and the certification is being financed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. According to the schedule, the flying tests on the Il-76LL flying test-bed will be started in early 2015. The Ministry has allocated funds for preparation of this jet. In 2016 PD-14 engine should perform its maiden flight on MS-21 aircraft. «We plan to obtain AR IAC certificate in 2017 and validate it in accordance with EASA standards in 2018. We are working closely with EASA. However, we don’t know if the current political situation will affect our plans», - Inozemtsev said.
