Aeroflot – Russian Airlines took delivery of another Airbus A320. The handover ceremony was held at Airbus facility in Toulouse. It was named after pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Mikhailovich Komarov, Aeroflot’s press-service reports.
“The aircraft is fitted with new Sharklet wing-tip devices. They improve the jet’s aerodynamics and offer operators up to 4% fuel burn reduction on longer range sectors and provide the flexibility of either adding an additional range or increased payload capability. The new wing-tip devices are made from light-weight composites and are 2.4 meters tall”, - the carrier explained.
At present, Aeroflot’s fleet comprises 97 А319/20/321 Family aircraft; the average age of these liners is 4.8 years. All the jets are delivered to Aeroflot directly from the manufacturer’s site. The jet is powered by CFM56 engines and features a two-class cabin configuration seating 158 passengers (8 seats in business class and 150 ones – in the economy class). Aeroflot operates the A320 Family jets on European and domestic flights. Aeroflot is among the world’s leading companies in terms of service reliability and the actual time in the air per aircraft.
