S7 Airlines, member of the oneworld global alliance, announces the acquisition of the state-of-the-art Airbus A320 liner fitted with Sharklets.

“The aircraft was delivered to the carrier directly from the Airbus plant in Toulouse under a lease agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital. The aircraft features a two-class cabin layout seating 158 passengers. The jet’s cabin is fitted with advanced seats made by Recaro (Germany), which provide the passengers with maximum comfort during the flight”, - said in the S7 press-service’s statement.

The new wing-tip devices are made from light-weight composites and are 2.4 meters tall. Sharklets improve the jet’s aerodynamics and offer operators up to 4% fuel burn reduction on longer range sectors and provide the flexibility of either adding an additional range or increased payload capability. This year the carrier will take delivery of one more Airbus A320 fitted with Sharklets. Moreover, S7 Airlines will also install new winglets on two aircrafts delivered from the Airbus plant earlier, S7 added.

We remind you that S7 Airlines put its first Airbus airliner into operation in 2004. Airbus A320 Family liners form the basis of the airline’s fleet and meet the requirements of its route network. The new liner is the 42nd Airbus aircraft in the fleet of S7 Airlines.
