Igor Garivadsky was appointed CEO of Beriev Aircraft Comapny

Igor Garivadsky, Special Aircraft Programs Director of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) was appointed CEO of Beriev Aircraft Company, UAC’s press-service reports.

“This decision was taken by the Board of Directors of Beriev Aircraft Company on March 4th 2014. According to the plans approved by UAC, the new CEO is responsible for fulfilling the State Defense Order, serial production of Be-200 aircraft intended for the Russian Ministry of Defense and EMERCOM, and increasing the paces of repair and upgrade of an aircraft intended for strategic and naval aviation”, - said in the statement.

“The revenues of Beriev Aircraft Company should significantly increase as compared to last year, up to 10 billion rubles. At that we understand that Beriev Aircraft Company is one of Taganrog’s core companies and it is of great importance for development of social infrastructure, - said Mikhail Pogosyan, president of UAC. - Therefore, we intend to start recruiting new employees this year; first of all this refers to those having "blue-collar" occupations. We will be developing cooperation with the city’s educational institutions to attract high-skilled young specialists“.

“Igor Garivadsky graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute in 1979 as a mechanical engineer. He worked for several Russian scientific centers, commercial enterprises, and government institutions. In 2003-2005, he was Assistant of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation; later he was appointed Deputy Head of the Federal Industry Agency and supervised the work of military industry enterprises. Starting from 2009, he was head of Directorate for MiG-29UPG, and worked as Procurement and Logistics Director for Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG”, - UAC added.

Ex-CEO of Beriev Aircraft Company, Victor A. Kobzev, will continue working for UAC in the area of special-purpose aviation programs.
