S7 Airlines, member of oneworld alliance, and Russian Post signed a contract in the area of mail transportation for 2014, the carrier’s press-service reports.
«Under the contract Russian Post plans to transport at least 715.7 tons of mail per month via S7 flights during the period from March to June and 798.5 tons per month during peak season from July to December. S7 Airlines in its own turn provides guaranteed capacity for transporting the mail, grants timely delivery and safety of cargo», - S7 noted.
Direct contract with the airline, which stipulates the guaranteed volume of mail traffic, redistribution of valuable destinations and restructuring of the traffic flow will help Russian Post save money. The mail will be transported onboard the aircraft performing flights on 123 domestic routes from Moscow and other Russian cities. The carrier’s geography of flights includes hard-to-reach regions located in Far Eastern Federal District; this fact will help make the mail deliveries more reliable and stable, the carrier noted.
«Taking into account the social significance of mail transportation and the carrier’s unique route network, the parties plan to establish a long-standing partnership aimed at optimization of logistic activities and reduction of delivery time on domestic routes», - the press-service noted.
