United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will develop a special version of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 intended for EMERCOM, Vzglyad reports with reference to the head of the ministry, Vladimir Puchkov.
«Together with UAC we are starting the development of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 geared towards medevac operations and other missions», - Puchkov said.
The minister also noted that EMERCOM and UAC will upgrade Il-76 transport aircraft. These jets will be fitted with new Russian-produced engines and avionics.
Moreover, according to Puchkov, the ministry will also take delivery of new multi-role Mi-8 helicopters and Be-200 amphibian aircraft.
We remind you that on February 14th 2014 president of UAC, Mikhail Pogosyan, said that Superjet Family will be expanded. The version of SSJ 100 with an extended range (4300 km) was certified in 2013 along with the jet’s version intended for low-cost carriers seating 103 passengers. The first business-jet derived from SSJ 100 will be delivered to the customer in 2014. According to Pogosyan, Russian Technologies State Corporation is the launch customer for this version.
According to the president of UAC, Sukhoi Holding Company has already established two centers of competence in the area of composites and avionics. These centers are taking part in development of MS-21 aircraft. They will also be involved in development of a wide-body aircraft.
