The Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ 100) and MS-21 projects are part of a strategic partnership between Russian and foreign companies, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the president of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Mikhail Pogosyan.

He noted that UAC is developing SSJ 100 and MS-21 aircraft with a focus on the global market. "If the foreign partners offer us new capabilities for improving our jets, we will surely seize them", - president of UAC said.

Pogosyan added that UAC is willing to cooperate with Russian and foreign enterprises not only in the network of MS-21 and SSJ 100 projects, but also in the course of development of advanced wide-body and transport aircraft.

The president of UAC explained that the corporation is experiencing some difficulties related to development of civil aircraft, because over the last 20 years the industry was focused only on military aviation. "We kind of fell behind in civil and transport aviation segments", - he explained.

However, he sees some positive aspects of the situation. "We can leave behind the outdated projects and develop new aircraft using state-of-the-art technologies", - president of UAC said.
