Ilyushin Finance & Co. leasing company (IFC), Antonov State Enterprise (Ukraine) and their Latin-American partners are negotiating construction of an aviation plant in Peru, Abireg reports with reference to representatives of the Ukrainian enterprise.
According to the source, Peruvian officials are interested in An-148T and An-178 aircraft. The parties have been negotiating the construction of an enterprise since late 2013. The project for construction of the aviation plant in the region is valued at $250-300 million. There is no information related to results of the negotiations.
IFC declined to comment on its possible participation in the construction of the aviation plant. However, the company noted that Latin America remains one of the most attractive markets. In particular, a certificate for expansion of the An-158 jet’s (delivered to Latin America) operating conditions was received (for example, at altitudes of up to 4 thousand meters in high mountain regions). The certification should significantly expand the geography of deliveries of An-158 in Latin America. For example, three An-158 aircraft were delivered to Cuba last year.
