S7 Airlines, member of oneworld alliance, announced the implementation of "Mobile boarding pass" technology at the airports of Yerevan (Armenia) and Tbilisi (Georgia).

«We keep developing our E-services allowing our passengers to travel with comfort and save time spent at the airport. Now the S7 passengers departing from Yerevan or Tbilisi, who checked-in online, may go directly to security check for preflight inspection. They will need only a passport and a mobile phone in order to receive the boarding pass», - Dmitry Chuyko, S7 Group E-Commerce Director, noted.

The mobile boarding pass will be sent to the passenger’s mobile phone in the form of SMS or e-mail (you must have an internet access in order to open the message) after completion of online check-in procedure using the phone or via S7 website. After clicking the link specified in the message, the passenger will receive a 2D barcode of the mobile boarding pass containing all the necessary information: flight number, route, data and time of departure/arrival, boarding time, gate number and seat number. In order to use the mobile boarding pass at the airports of Yerevan and Tbilisi the passenger should just display the 2D barcode on his mobile phone for scanning by the airport’s employees, the carrier’s press-service reported.

The service is also available at airports of Moscow (Domodedovo), Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Samara, Munich, Frankfurt and Bangkok. At Russian airports prior to preflight inspection the passenger with a mobile boarding pass needs to scan the 2D barcode displayed at the screen of his phone using special device (Mobile Check-in). After checking the data the device will print a paper boarding pass (the passenger must have a paper boarding pass in order to pass the security check at Russian airports).
