Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade will allocate 31 billion 735 million 955 thousand 600 rubles in 2014 – 2015 for development of MS-21 aircraft family, i-Mash reports with reference to a statement posted at a website related to government procurement.
According to the ministry’s press-service, under this contract Irkut Corporation will continue development of MS-21 family in 2014 and 2015. In fact, this contract is the extension of the project.
According to the instruction of the president of Russia, Irkut is the only enterprise responsible for development and certification of MS-21 Family aircraft. However, it may cooperate with a number of subcontractors (over 100 ones in the network of this project, most of them are Russian companies).
The following tasks will be completed under the contract by the end of 2015: elaboration of work design documentation, production documentation and operating documentation for MS-21-300/200; preparation of test facilities; experimental studies of systems and components; preproduction activities; ground testing; production of the first MS-21-300 flying prototype.
More MS-21-300 flying prototypes and the first MS-21-200 prototype will be manufactured after 2015. The ground, flight and certification testing will be completed later.
