RT-Khimcomposite will take part in establishment of the Russia’s first center for development and production of general aviation aircraft made of composites. The decision was taken during visit of representatives of Russian Technologies State Corporation to the Yekaterinburg-based Ural Works of Civil Aviation (UWCA), the company’s press-service reports.
RT-Khimcomposite will be responsible for development of composite components for new light aircraft developed by UWCA andDiamond Aircraft Industries (DAI, Austria), the company said.
«The usage of components of airframe, wing boxes, high lift devices and tail assembly made of polymer composites is one of the latest trends of the global aircraft industry. There is a demand for such vehicles both at domestic and global market», - CEO of RT-Khimcomposite, Sergey Sokol, noted.
RT-Khimcomposite will be responsible for localization of production of composite parts for the aircraft in Russia. The usage of composites will help improve the aircraft’s characteristics (fuel consumption, speed and range), decrease the number of assembly units tenfold, decrease the labor intensity and cost of production 2.5-3 times, the company noted.
We remind you that UWCA (part of Russian Technologies) and DAI (Austria) signed an agreement for joint development and production of light multi-role aircraft seating from 9 to 19 passengers in Russia in June 2013. The agreement was signed in the network of Paris Air Show. The first aircraft should be put into service in 2016.
