Valery Gerasimov: Development of PAK DA will be started in 2014

The development of Prospective Aviation Complex for Long-Range Aviation (PAK DA), which should replace Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers, will be started in 2014, Lenta.ru reports. It was stated by the Chief of General Staff of the Russian armed forces, General of the Army, Valery Gerasimov.

The general did not unveil any details related to the project. The PAK DA project was approved in March 2013. It was reported that several design bureaus presented their versions of the new aircraft and the major air command selected the project for development of a subsonic stealth bomber presented by Tupolev design bureau.
