The state testing of SV-27 propfan intended for D-27 engine was completed

The representative of the state commission of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), Vladislav Bruskov, announced the completion of state testing of SV-27 propfan intended for D-27 engine. An-70 aircraft are powered by D-27 engines.

He also noted that the basic specifications and operating characteristics of SV-27 propfan meet the requirements of the performance specification.

The propfan and its components together with D-27 engine and propfan control system provide the reliable operation of the powerplant over a period of 300 hours (specified by the state testing program). In future the engine’s overhaul period will be increased to 20 thousand hours.

In addition, the representative of the MoD noted that the propfan is ready for serial production and operation.

Vladislav Bruskov also noted that the SV-27 propfan is ready for flight testing onboard the An-70 aircraft.
