The first test flight of An-148EM aircraft manufactured by VASO and intended for EMERCOM has been performed in accordance with a production program, press-service of VASO reports.
The flight was successful; its duration was 2 hours 30 minutes. The functioning of all the aircraft systems was checked during flight.
According to a state contract signed by EMERCOM and United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), the ministry will take delivery of two An-148EM aircraft manufactured by VASO. The jets will be used for passenger transportation, for moving the EMERCOM brigades to a site of occurrence and for medevac missions.
«The main feature of these liners is the ability to reconfigure their cabin quickly. The basic version is the passenger-medical one (assumes placement of 2-6 modules with medical equipment on board the jet) », - the company explained.
VASO also noted that “the flight test program differs from the conventional and it is being carried out in accordance with 6+3+6 scheme (predelivery – certification – acceptance testing). The testing of passenger An-148 is carried out in accordance with 6+6 scheme (predelivery and acceptance testing) ».
After the completion of predelivery testing the jet will be delivered to Antonov State Enterprise in order to complete the certification of new equipment. The resuming of flight testing at VASO is scheduled for early March. The jet will be delivered to the customer in early April 2013.
