The first two L-410 aircraft will be delivered to Orenburg in late February

The first two L-410 aircraft will be delivered to Orenburg in late February and the third one – in March 2013, press-service of the government of Orenburg Region reports.

«At present the flying personnel is undergoing training. The certification of new vehicles will take about 1-1.5 months. Presumably, the first revenue flights will be performed by the aircraft in spring», - the government noted.

The delegation of Orenburg Region’s government returned from Czech Republic lately. It has visited «Aircraft Industries» enterprise, which specializes on manufacturing L-410 aircraft. During the negotiations the parties have discussed possible cooperation in the area of MRO activities and assembly of L-410 turboprops in Orenburg. The Czech specialists will visit Orenburg in order to continue the negotiation process.

«The launch of L-410’s production in Orenburg is in line with the strategy declared by the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin – development of national aircraft industry and establishment of new advanced facilities on the basis of the existing enterprises, - the vice-governor, Deputy Chairman of the government of Orenburg Region, Natalya Levinson, said. – This will give new momentum to development of Strela Production Association».

Natalya Levinson also noted that “in case of reaching the agreement in the area of MRO activities and assembly of L-410 turboprops in Orenburg, the region will become not only the first one in Russia to get its regional aviation up and running but it will also join the family of regions having their own aircraft manufacturer”.
