Aeroflot took delivery of the third Sukhoi SuperJet 100 in full configuration manufactured by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), the carrier’s press-service reports.
“The liner was named after Petr Khmelnitskiy. Petr Georgievich Khmelnitskiy is the Honored Pilot of the USSR and Honored Worker of Transport of Russia. He was awarded with the Order of the October Revolution, of the Red Banner of Labor, and with Aeroflot Excellence insignia. He organized and operated the first flights to more than 20 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. He also trained more than 50 aircraft captains and headed the flight attendants service (TSUMVS)”, - the press-service noted.
Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft (registration number RA- 89017) was handed over to Aeroflot under financial lease agreement with VEB-Leasing. The jet features a two-class cabin seating 12 passengers in business class and 75 ones in economy class. The jet’s range is 2400 km.
“SSJ-100 aircraft help Aeroflot develop one of the key areas of its strategy - create a global airline network and strengthen its leadership at domestic market. SSJ-100 aircraft are becoming an essential part of Aeroflot’s fleet, one of the youngest and most technologically advanced fleets in Europe. Aeroflot ordered a total of 30 aircraft of the type”, - the company added.
