The information related to violation of license requirements by S7 Airlines (spread by the West-Siberian transport prosecution office) is incorrect, the carrier’s press-service reports.
We remind you that the press-service of the prosecution office reported earlier that Novosibirsk transport prosecution office conducted an investigation in accordance with the inquiry of one of the passengers of GH179 flight performed by S7. It was found that the regular S7 flight number GH179 (from Domodedovo (Moscow) to Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo)) was scheduled for August 25th 2013, however, the carrier changed the route willfully. As a result the jet with 154 passengers onboard landed in Barnaul.
«The GH-179 flight on route Moscow (Domodedovo) – Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) was performed on August 25th 2013 by Globus Airlines (part of S7 Group). Moreover, according to decision of the court taken on November 18th 2013 the legal case against S7 has been terminated due to absence of elements of the administrative crime. Moreover, suggestions published by some members of the mass-media saying that the landing in Barnaul was connected with two passengers of business class, who left the liner in Barnaul, are nothing more than speculations. These rumors do not have a leg to stand on», - said in the statement of S7’s press-service.
The company also explained that the landing in Barnaul airport was necessary in order to deliver a device required to repair another aircraft as soon as possible. This liner should have performed a flight from Barnaul to Moscow and the passengers have been waiting for its repair.
