According to the decision of the Board of Directors of Rossiya Airlines, Vasily Nikolaevich Meshkov was appointed CEO of the airline. He commenced his duties on January 28th 2013.
Vasily Nikolaevich was born in 1964 in Almaty. He graduated from Riga University of civil aviation engineers in 1987. He was working as an engineer in Burundai united air group during a period from 1987 to 1989. He was doing service in state security bodies from 1989 to 2012. He was appointed head of department of civil aviation facilities of Federal Security Service Directorate in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region in 2005. He is the retired colonel.
"He was appointed Deputy Director General, Strategy, of Rossiya Airlines on June 1st 2012. He was responsible for elaboration of development strategy and airline’s development plan harmonized with the development strategy of Aeroflot Group", - the carrier noted.
He is married and has two children.
According to AEX.RU, the former CEO of the airline, Sergey Belov, was dismissed due to the fact of his retirement.
