The head of Federal Space Agency, Vladimir Popovkin, confirmed that the first yearlong mission on the ISS may take place in 2015, RIA Novosti reports.
A source close to the rocket-and-space industry has reported earlier about the yearlong mission on the ISS scheduled for 2015. "The decision on extension of the astronauts’ space-flights will be made soon. At present we are negotiating with our partners, first of all NASA, on performing such flight in 2015", - Popovkin said.
"We believe that there are no obstacles for this decision. Our American colleagues have also confirmed that. I think we will approve this mission plan in 2012. At present we think that such flights are possible", - the head of Federal Space Agency said.
