One million passengers is a serious milestone for the aircraft and its launch customer. This milestone means that the aircraft has passed the refining period under condition of commercial service. This is the way to put in perspective its operation reliability and competitive edge.
According to Rossiya, Elena Koroleva from St. Petersburg became the millionth passenger (flight PL325 from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad). She was awarded with a certificate for a free flight for two on any route of the airline and other pleasant presents.
An-148 performed its first revenue flight in December 2009. At present the airline has six aircraft of the type, which perform flights to cities of Russia and CIS Region and also have allowance for performing flights to foreign countries. ThetotalAn-148 fleetflyingtimeis37 000. The present average monthly flying time per jet is 300 hours and this fact gives evidence that the aircraft has high reliability.
The assimilation of this brand-new aircraft demanded significant efforts from Rossiya. A great job has been performed in the area of improving reliability and efficiency of the jet. The contribution of Rossiya to putting the new jet into operation was highly appreciated by the government in 2012 and the airline’s employees were awarded with commendations and Certificates of Merit of the Ministry of Transport.
Achieving the milestone of 1 million passengers is another important step in the network of the new aircraft’s operation. Rossiya – Russian Airlines in cooperation with its partners will keep on contributing to development and improvement of new aircraft.
