Russian UAVs may be equipped with satellite communications in 2013, Vzglyad.ru reports with reference to CEO of Moscow Research and Development Establishment forming part of Vega concern, Yuri Nevzorov.

«Our institute is developing the satellite communications for UAVs. It would be a significant milestone. This problem has not been solved yet in other countries of the world», - Nevzorov said at Gidroaviasalon-2012.

According to him, the first results of this work will be ready next year.

In addition, the R&D establishment has developed and will soon install a satellite communications station on “Mustang” speedboats, Nevzorov said.
