Bank of Russia has put into circulation the commemorative coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Russian air forces with a nominal of 3 rubles on August 2nd 2012, Department for External and Public Relations of Bank of Russia reports. AEX.ru
The mass of the precious metal is 31,1 g, standard of alloy is 925, catalogue number - № 5111-0238. The coin has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 39,0 mm. The coin has an overhand edging on both sides, Bank of Russia noted.
The following elements are located on the head of the coin: embossed image of the Bank of Russia’s emblem – a double-headed eagle with lowered wings; the inscription in the form of semi-circle underneath the emblem – BANK OF RUSSIA; more inscriptions in a circumferential direction separated by dots – nominal of the coin – THREE RUBLES and the year of coinage – 2012 (the designation of the metal in accordance with Mendeleyev’s classification, standard of alloy, trademark of St. Petersburg mint and the mass of the precious metal are located between these inscriptions).
The color image of the Russian air forces’ insignia and Su-34 multi-role aircraft are located on the reverse side of the coin. The following inscription in a circumferential direction is located beneath: “100th ANNIVERSARY OF RUSSIAN AIR FORCES”.
The edge of the coin is ribbed. The coin has the “proof” quality. Itsmintageis3,000 ones.
