MiG-29КUB performed the first deck touchdown on Vikramaditya aircraft carrier

A very important event related to Vikramaditya (ex-Admiral Gorshkov) aircraft carrier took place last week. The wheels of a fighter touched its deck for the first time, Sevmash’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

«MiG-29КUB piloted by the Hero of Russia, honored test pilot of RF, Colonel Nikolay Diorditsa (along with his colleague – the Hero of Russia, Mikhail Belyaev), performed several approaches at different altitudes and then performed the deck touchdown for the first time. After “running” for a few score of meters the jet shot up in the sky», - the enterprise’s press-service noted.

In the next ten minutes the test pilot of Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG has placed the jet in a reference landing trajectory and performed deck touchdown two more times.

Nikolay Diorditsa and Mikhail Belyaev are considered as the test pilots to perform the first landing on the deck of Vikramaditya, the company noted.
