Russian Helicopters and Augusta Westland will codevelop a light helicopter with a weight of 2,5 tons

Farnborough International Airshow 2012 - Russian Helicopters and Augusta Westland will sign a cooperation agreement on development of a light helicopter with a weight of 2.5 tons", - said CEO of Russian Helicopters Holding Company, Dmitry Petrov. AEX.ru

The serial production of the new helicopter will be started in 2015. Moreover, it is planned to sign a number of large contracts with foreign companies on delivery of Russian helicopters in the network of the show.

Russian Helicopters will present the full-scale mockup of Ka-62 helicopter and concept of advanced high-speed helicopter with a weight of 10 tons at Farnborough International Airshow 2012. Serial production of Ka-62 will be started in 2014 (its launch customer is Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD)).

Petrov also said that the deliveries of helicopters to the MoD in accordance with eight previously signed contracts have been started. The scope of deliveries intended for the MoD increased 7 times in 2012 as compared to 2007.
