Rosoboronexport has sold 400 military helicopters to foreign countries over the past ten years (2001-2011), Lenta.ru reports. It was stated by the company’s representative, Grigory Kozlov. According to him, the sales of helicopters have increased 12 times over the past ten years. At that, the sales have increased five times during the last 4 or 5 years.

As explained by Kozlov, the deliveries of helicopters to foreign customers should increase in future. The only thing that may influence the growth of export – the Russian MoD’s increasing demand. "The limitations are caused by increased state defense order. And the enterprises cannot increase their output immediately", - he explained.

According to the assessments of Rosoboronexport’s representative, the sales of helicopters should increase in 2012 as compared to 2011. According to Kozlov, it is planned to sign contract with USA in the second part of 2012 on delivery of an additional batch of 10 multi-role Мi-17V-5s for Afghanistan. USA and Russia have agreed on delivery of 21 multirole helicopters (total value is $900 million) to Afghanistan in May 2011.

Russia and Argentina have signed Memorandum of Understanding in early May 2011. The MoU assumes the delivery of three multi-role Мi-171Еs and three Ка-226Тs to Argentina. The helicopters will be acquired by Argentina using Russian export credit. Argentina has acquired two Мi-171Е in April 2010 (the amount of this contract was €20 million).

India and Rosoboronexport have signed contract on delivery of 80 Mi-17V-5 helicopters with a total value of $1,345 billion. 12 helicopters were delivered to India in 2011. Indian air forces have put a large batch of Russian vehicles into operation in February 2012.
