Ivan Skobrev, the champion of Russia and world champion in classic multiathlon, silver and bronze medalist of Vancouver Olympics and the ambassador of Sochi-2014, has taken part in the solemn ceremony. Ivan has highly appreciated the new design and noted that “Olympic mascots will decorate the jets of Sochi-2014’s General partner and spread the “Olympic word” all over the country”. Aeroflot has exclusive right to use mnemonics of Sochi-2014 in the livery of its aircraft; this is a unique project, the airline noted.

Aeroflot is the General partner of XXII Winter Olympics and XI Paralympic winter games in Sochi in the “Passenger transportation” category. Aeroflot has already started the preparation for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in close cooperation with Organizing Committee of Sochi-2014 and Russian Olympic Committee.

"Aeroflot traditionally contributes to development of the Olympic movement in Russia. Team Russia used Aeroflot’s services while travelling to Sydney, Salt-Lake-City, Athens, Turin, Beijing and Vancouver. Transportation of thousands of sportsmen, members of the official delegations and guests of the Games along with transportation of oversized special baggage was carried out in the network of regular and additional flights of the airline. Aeroflot will increase the number of regular flights to Sochi and will perform direct flights from Sochi to the European cities. The support of sports is a natural part of Aeroflot’s corporate philosophy. AeroflotOpen chess tournament is held every year with the carrier’s support (since 2002). This tournament was included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most massive one in the world. Aeroflot is the longstanding sponsor of PFC CSKA, whose players are playing for the Team Russia", - the airline’s press-service noted.
