The Russian government will insist on foreign companies, which work in Russia, using GLONASS system, the vice prime minister on modernization, Vladislav Surkov, said. It has been reported by Gazeta.ru.

«The whole world is using our signal and we will insist on compulsory usage of GLONASS in Russia (at the level of chips and so on)», – Surkov said during meeting with the manufacturers of chipsets for mobile devices, infrastructure communications equipment and software.

According to him, this refers to the car industry in the first place, and also to the communications systems and all the areas, where such equipment may be used.

«I don’t think it is a burden or some kind of prohibitive measure. It is as like as chalk and cheese with the protection, because it is the global system and these devices may be used in any country of the world. In fact, the Apple is already doing it, so why the others should not?», – Surkov said.
