The number of passengers transported by Transaero has increased by 38% in the first quarter of 2012

Transaero has finalized the results of March and the first three months of 2012. They are testifying the stable development of the airline during the year of its 20th anniversary and significant growth of its commercial indicators, the airline’s press-service reports. AEX.ru

“The passenger turnover of Transaero in March 2012 was 2 883 738,99 thousand passenger-kilometers (+32.9% as compared to March 2011). The number of transported passengers was 619 444 (+ 46.3%)”, - the airline noted.

4 707,09 tons of cargo have been delivered during the period (+ 19.2%). The ton-kilometers was 286 295,78 thousand tons-kilometers (+ 31.5%).

“In addition, Transaero’s passenger turnover was 8 459 266,18 thousand passenger-kilometers (+27.6%) during the first three months of 2012. The number of transported passengers was 1 769 283 (+38%). 11 385.67 tons of cargo have been delivered during the period (+23.9%). The ton-kilometers was 824 468,37 thousand tons-kilometers (+ 27%)”, - Transaero noted.

Commenting the results of the first three months, CEO of Transaero, Olga Pleshakova, said: “These are the best results of the first quarter in the history of our airline. It is very important that they are caused by dynamic development of domestic and international transportation. The performance of non-stop flights to foreign countries has played a significant role in the growth of passenger traffic. Our airline will continue the implementation of its development strategy, which meets the requirements of our customers and the development objectives of Russian civil aviation”.
