Vnukovo airport and Transaero will contribute to the creation of the service center for maintenance of Transaero’s aircraft on the basis of Vnukovo aircraft repair plant №400 (VARP 400). It has been reported by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vnukovo International Airport, Vitaly Vantsev. AEX.ru

«At present the design of hangars for servicing A380 and Boeing 747-8 aircraft is being started on the basis of VARP 400», - he said.

VARP 400 and Transaero will be the investors in this project. According to Vantsev, one more investor may take part in the project, but the situation is not clear at the moment. Vantsev did not specify the total value of hangars’ construction, however, he said, that a hangar for two Boeing 747s costs $60 million.

In addition, Vantsev said that Vnukovo will hand over two sections of hangar, intended for maintenance of Boeing 747, Boeing 777 and other Transaero’s aircraft, to Transaero. Vnukovo airport will also provide the parking facilities for airline’s Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
