CEO of Transaero, Olga Pleshakova, told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper that the airline is negotiating on acquisition of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

"Now that consolidation of assets is over the Russian aircraft industry is reviving. It is very important that this industry is considered as one of the top-priority ones in the network of retrieval of Russia’s technological leadership. I think that our aircraft industry has failed to launch the serial production of Tu-214, because it was not a leap-ahead project. It was based on former Soviet reserves and did not meet the requirements of modern market. We have ordered 10 such jets just to support our aircraft industry. And they were able to deliver only three of them», - Pleshakova noted.

«Now the indigenous medium-haul Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is here. The excellent state-of-the-art liner is as good as foreign analogues. Our company is negotiating on its acquisition. I believe that it is suitable for regional transportation inside Russia», - Pleshakova said.

She also noted that Transaero is going to take part in a project for development of long-haul wide-body Russian liner.
