The D-12 assault parachute system in intended for training and combat jumps from Il-76, Il-76M, Il-76MD jets and Mi-8 helicopters. It has a wide range of adjustments and it is made of light and durable materials, which allow increasing the payload, the company explained.
«D-12 is the next-generation parachute system, - CEO of “NII Parachutostroeniya”, Sergey Astakhov, stated. – The D-12’s total fly weight is 160 kg. It ensures reliable operation at the altitudes from 150 to 4000 m and comfort landing at average speed of above 4,5 m/s. The main parachute provides the average horizontal velocity of 4,5 m/s back and forth as well as 180 degrees turn in any direction during less than 15 seconds. The harness has a wide range of adjustments. The developed parachute system is a truly innovative product, which leaves behind its foreign rivals by many parameters».
CEO of “NII Parachutostroeniya”, Sergey Astakhov, coordinator of D-12 project, Professor Vladimir Aparinov, command of air assault forces, scientists and designers of D-12 system will be present at the airfield during test jumps.
