EVektor spol. s r.o. (Czech Republic) has signed an agreement on technology transfer for production of EV-55 Outback in Russia. The joint venture Vektor N G RUS was established by Russia and Czech Republic in order to implement the project, press-service of “Aviation Capital of Russia” project reports. AEX.ru

EV-55 Outback aircraft is intended for transportation of 9-14 passengers or 1824 kg of cargo. At present this is the only multi-role aircraft in its class, which meets the requirements of international standards. The aircraft is intended for general aviation operations and it is easily converted into different versions: rescue, ambulance, cargo, passenger or patrol aircraft. EV-55 Outback is able to use unprepared runways; the turboprop has a short takeoff and landing capability and may be operated under a wide range of weather conditions. The aircraft may be piloted by one pilot, the press-service noted.

"The Chairman of the Accounts Chamber, S.V. Stepashin, in his letter to the President described EV-55 as “outstanding at price and applicability for short-stage routes of our country”. Potential of this international project has also been confirmed by an independent evaluation performed by Ernst&Young in August 2012. According to the findings of the international consulting company, implementation of EVektor’s strategic development program based on long-term forecasts of development of Russian and global markets along with presence of its own innovative products (first of all EV-55) is the source of stable multiple capitalization increase of the Holding in medium- and long-term perspective", - the press-service noted.

The first order for new EV-55 Outback was placed shortly after the signing of the agreement on launching the production in Russia: Krasnoyarsk-based AeroGeo signed a contract on delivery of 29 aircraft. The Ulyanovsk port special economic zone created in the network of development of the region’s aviation cluster is considered as the most probable production base.
