Aeroflot – Russian Airlines and Russian Technologies State Corporation have signed an agreement of intent on operational leasing of 50 Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft. State-of-the-art high-efficient passenger liners are acquired due to significant expansion of Aeroflot Group connected with introduction of several regional carriers, which have previously been owned by Russian Technologies, the airline’s press-service reports. Russian Technologies and Boeing have signed an agreement on delivery of B737 NG liners in September 2010. Aeroflot will acquire the jets through Aviacapital-Service, the Russian Technologies’ leasing arm. The deliveries will be performed during the period from September 2013 to 2017. The B737 NG aircraft will be supplied in two modifications: B737-800 and B737-900 ER. The number of jets for each modification will be defined by Aeroflot at a later date. Boeing 737-800 has 189 seats, Boeing 737-900 ER – 215 ones. The leasing period is 144 months.

The cabin of Boeing 737 NG aircraft is designed in accordance with modern standards. It provides a great flexibility in terms of reconfiguration. Solutions used during design of honored and popular cabin of Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft have been implemented during development of 737 NG’s cabin. And the new Sky Interior technology has allowed improving the comfort level for passengers. The liner’s cockpit is equipped with large LCD displays and advanced flight management system. Innovative equipment helps increase the flight safety and crew performance efficiency, Aeroflot added.
Aeroflot Group will operate the new Boeing liners on domestic and international routes, the airline noted.
