The testing of Ка-52 Alligator attack helicopter landing has been carried out by the Northern Fleet, Lenta.ru reports.
As reported with reference to the representatives of the Northern Fleet, the specialists have tested the work of landing gear under the conditions of heavy pitching for adaptation of "land-based” helicopter for landing on the ship.
The testing has been carried on the board of large anti-submarine ship called “Vice-admiral Kulakov” in the Kola bay and Barents Sea. According to the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (CAWAT), at first Ка-52 has performed a test landing “on the table”, when the ship is in static position and then Alligator has successfully landed at the moving large anti-submarine ship.
The helicopter has been piloted by the test-pilot of Kamov design bureau, Vitaly Lebedev, during testing. The specialists of Northern Fleet’s naval aviation have been ensuring the safety during landing.
The multi-role attack Ka-52 Alligator helicopter has been designed by Kamov design bureau and is manufactured by Progress plant in the Primorski Krai. The two-seated Ка-52 is the further development of one-seated Ka-50 Black Shark attack helicopter.
Alligator has a maximum speed of 350 km/h. It range is 1,200 km, maximum altitude is - 5,500 km, climb-out speed is - 10 m/s.
It is intended to deploy the “naval” version of Alligator at the Mistral helicopter carriers acquired from France.
