The share of Sukhoi fighters at the global market during 2003-2010 was over 19%

The Center for analysis of world arms trade (CAWAT) has studied the global market of fighters. The share of Sukhoi fighters at the global market during 2003-2010 was 19,36%. This analysis has taken into account all the deliveries – new aircraft, license programs, repair, modernization and deliveries from the air forces of exporting countries, Sukhoi Company reports. AEX.ru

The total export volume of Russia in 2003-2010 is estimated by CAWAT at $14,732 billion (21,35% of global market). Our country is second with this indicator. The Sukhoi fighters have provided 90,7% of Russian export’s total value in the “multi-role fighters” category.

The Sukhoi fighters share in the total export (“fighters” category) was: 2003 – 91,5%, 2004 – 80,7%, 2005 – 86,5%, 2006 – 86,4%, 2007 – 99,2%, 2008 – 95,8%, 2009 – 88,9%, 2010 – 97,7%. 

According to CAWAT, the share of Sukhoi fighters in global sales was: 2003 – 28,44%, 2004 – 25,78%, 2005 – 10,71%, 2006 - 7,72%, 2007 – 17,44%, 2008 – 26,63%, 2009 – 23,57%, 2010 – 16,47%. 

The first country by the export value of multi-role fighters during 2003-2010 is USA – $36,197 billion, which is 52,46% of world export in this category. UK is the third – $6,334 billion (9,18%).  The rest of the rating goes as follows: France – $5,551 billion (8,04%), Sweden – $2,46 billion (3,57 %), China – $1,073 billion (1,56%), Israel - $911 million. The deliveries in the “multi-role fighters” category have been carried out by 25 countries during 2003 - 2010. 

The Center’s experts have studied the backlog as of June 1st. According to them, the share of Sukhoi fighters in the total export of Russia in this category during next 4 years (2011-2014) is assessed at 61%. With this indicator Russia will keep its second place. Sukhoi’s share at the global markets in 2011-2014 will be around 14%, in Russia - 22,7%. The total scope of US contract obligations on deliveries of multi-role fighters as of June 1st 2011 with the deliveries in 2011-2014 (the first place in the rating) is 46,26% of the world orders. The third is UK – 13,04%. The rest of the rating goes as follows: “unknown” category (results of these tenders are yet unknown) -5,3%, China - 4,86%, France - 3,56%, Sweden - 3,13%.
