According to Lenta.ru, Russia will deliver a batch of helicopter trainers for Mi-171, Mi-17V5, Mi-25 and Mi-35 to Venezuela in the nearest future. The trainers have been manufactured by St. Petersburg-based company Tranzas. According to Chief Marketing Officer of Tranzas Aviation, Igor Strokin, the trainers for Mi-17s will be delivered not only with high-level class D mobility system but also without it.
D class trainers allow crew training without performing flights using real aircraft. Thanks to this system it is possible to decrease training cost of pilots several times. The cost of the system is about $10 million.
Besides delivery of trainers to Venezuela, Tranzas will also deliver trainers to Brazil. The trainer for Mi-35 has already been assembled for this country. In addition, Azerbaijan, Syria and Cyprus are awaiting the deliveries of training systems. The St. Petersburg-based company has a total of 40 orders for jet and helicopter trainers. These orders shall have been completed by 2014.
It has been reported in August 2010 that Tranzas Aviation intends to create a joint venture with India for assembly of full-scale trainers for training the pilots of fighters, combat-transport aircraft and helicopters. The Indian party expects to decrease the nonbattle casualties by using the trainers.
