Antonov An-225 Mriya transport aircraft

Kiyv Aircraft Plant may complete the construction of second An-225 Mriya transport aircraft assuming there is a customer for the jet, said Motor Sich’s chairman of the board, Vyacheslav Boguslaev. AEX.ru

According to Boguslaev, Russian Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdukov has expressed his interest in completion of second transport aircraft’s construction in the course of his visit on the Kiyv Aircraft Plant. The aircraft’s construction has been cancelled in early 1980s.

Vyacheslav Boguslaev told the journalists that only two Mriyas have been intended for construction. One jet has been constructed for transportation of Buran space ship and at present it is being operated by Antonov airline forming part of Antonov ASTC. According to different sources, the second jet is still undeveloped by 60-70%.

We remind you that the president of the board of Antonov ASTC, Dmitriy Kiva, stated that $100 million are needed for completion of the second Mriya.
