Irkut Corporation has delivered three Yak-130 operational trainers to Algeria, Lenta.ru reports.

The transportation of the jets has been carried out using An-124 aircraft. Algeria has ordered a total of 16 Russian aircraft.

The contract on delivery of 16 Yak-130s to Algerian air forces has been signed in March 2006. The amount of the contract is assessed at $250 million. Yak-130s, delivered to Algerian air forces, are equipped with AI -222-25 engines, however, the export version may also be equipped with American F124-GA-200 engines.

According to Irkut, all the jets, ordered by Algeria, have already been assembled and will be delivered to the customer this year.
