Russian airlines have transported more than 49,3 million passengers during 9 months of 2011

Federal Air Transport Agency has unveiled the statistics on passenger and cargo traffic of Russian airlines during a period of time from January to September 2011. AEX.ru

According to this statistics, the passenger turnover of the airlines was 127 294 032,09 thousand passenger-kilometers, (+ 13,6% as compared to the same period of the last year). The cargo turnover was 3 601 942,23 thousand ton-kilometers (+ 4,9%).

During the accounting period Russian carriers have transported 49 367 667 passengers (+12,8% as compared to the same period of 2010). The scope of transported cargo and mail was 709 219,65 tons (+6,1%). The passenger load factor has remained at 77,8% mark and the commercial load factor was 65,3%.

Russian airlines have transported 6 779 211 passengers in September 2011 (+15,8%) and 90 111,95 tons of cargo and mail (+6,9%).

The top-5 carriers by passenger traffic during the period from January to September 2011 are as follows: Aeroflot has transported 10 540 635 passengers (+23,5% as compared to the same period of 2010), Transaero - 6 558 750 passengers (+29,5%), UTair - 4 174 006 passengers (+22,1%), Sibir’ - 3 839 301 passengers (+4,1%), Rossiya - 2 712 365 passenger (+13,1%).

The five leading airlines by cargo traffic are: AirBridgeCargo - 269 564,9 tons of cargo and mail (+19,9% compared to the same period of 2010), Aeroflot - 111 927,34 tons of cargo and mail (-5,4%),  Volga-Dnepr - 46 114,2 tons of cargo and mail (-32,9%), Polet - 39 665,34 tons of cargo and mail (+21,3%), Transaero - 35 782,83 tons of cargo and mail (+30,2%).
