The Sukhoi Superjet 100 will have its entry into service with Armenian Airlines (Armavia) in February 2011 and with Aeroflot – Russian Airlines the following month.
This information leaked to the press earlier this month and was confirmed by the press service of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) on Wednesday 15 December. The aircraft with manufacturer serial number 95007 (msn95007) is to become operational with Armavia, while msn95008 and msn95009 are destined for Aeroflot.
The msn95008 is now being painted into Aeroflot colors, while the msn95007 continues certification trials, upon whose completion it will be painted into Armavia colors. Painting takes place at special facility in Ulianovsk aviation plant.
Apparently, deliveries shall take place earlier, but SCAC did not collaborate on that. Type certification for the SSJ100 is still expected by the end of this year, with the Air Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (ARMAK), which represents aviation authorities of Russia and other CIS countries.
