The interview of the head of Rosoboronexport’s department for analysis and advanced planning, Sergey Svechnikov, about the prospects of Russian military-industrial sector (MIS) and aircraft industry in Latin America. The conversation took place at the International Aerospace Exhibition FIDAE-2012, which was held on March 27th - April 1st in Santiago, the capital of Chile.

Following the results of 2011, 14% of the total volume of Rosoboronexport’s deliveries is accounted for by Latin America. Russian delegation was taking part in the exhibition for the 10th time.

More than 130 enterprises from 8 countries of the world will take part in the show.

The Russian market for regional air transportation is in trouble. This fact became so obvious that the government has taken actions, introducing measures to support leasing solutions for regional aircraft. No doubt, these measures have been necessary. Sadly, a comprehensive approach to the issue is not shining through yet. This makes us think that these measures might bring controversial outcome.
